Thoughts To Ponder…..

“Life is not about finding yourself.  Life is about creating yourself.” ~ George Bernard Shaw

I love this quote!  It reminds me that I am in control of who I want to be.  We can allow the circumstances of our lives to dictate who we become or we can decide who we’ll be by the choices and decisions we make.

“I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances.” ~Martha Washington

Take control of your emotions by learning how to respond to situations rather than reacting to them.  One of the techniques that helps me with this is to act as an observer.  I simply view a situation as if it were happening to someone else.  This allows me to see the situation from an outside angle thus making it easier for me to respond consciously.

“Whatever you believe with emotions becomes your reality. You always act in a manner consistent with your innermost beliefs and convictions. ” ~Brian Tracy

If life is not going the way you want it to, question your core belief system.  If deep inside you don’t believe that you deserve a great job, a loving relationship, success or happiness, you will not experience it.  Identify your thought patterns, change those that don’t serve you by replacing them with ones that do.  Constant repetition of positive statements over time will help to create new thought patterns.  Live as if it is so until it comes to be.

“Obstacles are the things we see when we take our eyes off our goals. ” ~Zig Ziglar

Learn not to judge obstacles as good or bad but rather as street signs directing you in the ways you should go.  Most obstacles in my life have served to lead me to better things in my life.  Changing course is sometimes necessary in life.

Make this a year of conscious living.  Decide for yourself who you will be.  Don’t let circumstances throw you off track.  Learn to respond rather than react to situations.  Question your belief system and discard those that do not support the person you wish to be.  And lastly, keep your eyes on the goal.  Obstacles may slow you down but they don’t need to throw you off course.

Wishing you much happiness and success!

  1. Hi, Thanks for sharing these quotes and expounding upon them. I like to dwell upon them so that I eventually put them into action by living them out.
