Facing the Fear

Most of us realize that to reach a goal we’ve set for ourselves, it is going to require making a change in some area of our life.  Whether it be changing jobs, moving to a new area, going back to college, etc, we are most likely facing some sort of decision.  And that decision usually involves a change.  The problem is most people fear change.  So much so that they will stay stuck in dead-end situations just to avoid having to make the change.  I have a secret to share with you about fear.  Fear that is faced head on, disappears.

As Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.  You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.”  Success will not come to those who let fear stop them from doing the things they know they must do.  What fear is stopping you from having the life you dream of?  Make a decision today to face that fear head on, get the support of a friend or mentor, and push through it.  The feeling of knowing that you conquered your fear is intoxicating.  A successful life awaits you.  Make it yours!

“You block your dreams when you allow your fear to grow bigger than your faith.” ~Mary Mannin Morrissey
