” The day is of infinite length for him who knows how to appreciate and use it.” ~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
I woke up this morning to the sound of birds chirping and the sun peaking through the curtains. It felt as though I was being beckoned by the day to come out and play. Being that it’s a Saturday, I could have stayed in bed for while but instead I decided to take advantage of the blank slate that was before me.
Life is full of too many have-to’s and often times we don’t give ourselves permission to take parts of our day and make it our own. Taking time to do the things that bring us joy or peace is essential if we are to make the most of each day that we are given. So today I will take the time to do the must-do’s and will intersperse it with the want-to’s. And at the end of the day I hope to look back with a sense of accomplishment, appreciation, and ownership. Time is a gift. How will you spend today?
Wishing you much happiness and success!
I’m always so tempted to sleep in on Saturdays, but I never regret the mornings I get up early and get things done. I see this as a “bonus” day where I don’t HAVE to get these things done, but it alleviates the panic I feel on Mondays, which is like an extended gift from the weekend!
